An empty Microsoft Access Database is supplied with the software. It is in "Email AddressDB" subfolder.
A screen shot of "SBTN3812EmailAddresses" table is as follows :
Field names : EmailIndexKey, Name, EmailAddress and Group must not be changed.
You can use "EnterKeyNameEmAddrs" form to enter values in the database.

    Generate LN,BC,NC Page
  • SBTN3812 uses variable data in the OS/400 spool file to
    split spool file,
    generate PDF File Name,
    Retrieve email address from Microsoft Access Database, and to
    generate Remote File.
  • Location of Variable data in a page must at the same location throughout same spool file e.g. Customer Number, Account Number, Invoice Number etc. Bill To Name, Ship To Name, Invoice Date etc. etc.
  • Location of variable data on a page is identified by
    counting down from top - starting with Line 1( Line Number - LN),
    counting from left to right - starting at column 1(Begin Column - BC) and
    size - number of characters - of the variable data field ( Number of Columns - NC).
  • In order to accurately determine LN, BC and NC values, as received by SBTN3812, we provide you with this built in utility that generates ASCII Text page.
  • We can generate a ASCII Text (*.txt) page from OS/400 (EBCDIC) spool file and display it in say Microsoft Word.
  • Click on the button to generate Page from OS/400 spool file data.

Spool File Splitter Control
split (subdivide) an output file into multiple PDF files.
SBTN3812 can email each PDF file to a different email address.
For example, you can split a customer statement run based on splitter value, for example, a customer number, located at LN,BC,NC.
LN, BC, NC values to locate value to split a spool file.

PDFeForm Overlay Graphics
Overlay SPF file contains constant objects lines, shading, text, boxes, and or logos that will be merged with variable data to generate graphics rich PDF document.
Overlay SPF file does not require you to use AFP PSF/400 to generate good quality PDF documents.
You don't have to change printer file using OVRPRTF, CHGPRTF or CHGSPLFA to merge overlays with the variable data.
